PADI Open Water Course:

Pre-requisite: 10 years old
Course duration: 3.5 days
Price: 9200 baht incl. 4nights budget accom.

The most popular entry level diving certification in the world!

This certification will allow you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres anywhere in the world. Learn basic diving skills and theory allowing you to gain the knowledge and confidence to dive independently of a dive professional.

This course consists of Knowledge Development (classroom sessions), Confined Water Training (shallow water skills sessions) and 4 Open Water Dives (ocean dives).

Sample schedule:

  • Day 1- 16.30 Orientation and video 1+2
  • Day 2- 08.30 Classroom session 2.5 hours, 12.30 confined session + open water dive 1 max. depth 12 metres
  • Day 3- 08.30 Classroom session 2.5 hours, 12.30 confined session + open water dive 2 max. depth 12 metres

PADI Advanced Open Water Course:

Pre-requisite: 12 years old + PADI Open Water license or equivalent
Course Duration: 2 days
Price: 8000
Baht incl. 2 nights budget accom.

This course allows divers to gain more experience and confidence, and to get a taster of different types of diving activities under supervision.

The course consists of self-study Knowledge Development and 5 Adventure Dives.

There are 2 mandatory dives:

  • Deep – Dive to 30 metres.
  • Navigation- Learn to find your way, using a compass and natural navigation techniques.

The other 3 dives are elective. Some of the choices include:

  • Night dive – Check out the nocturnal marine life with your flashlight (everybody loves this one).
  • Peak Performance Bouyancy- Improve your general dive skills, control and air consumption in 1 dive.
  • Fish ID- Learn simple techniques on how to identify different fish species and where they can be found.
  • Wreck- Check out Koh Tao’s new wreck dive (new 2011)
  • Computer /Multilevel dive- Learn how to use a dive computer and plan longer dive times.
  • Diver Propulsion Vehicle- Save energy and cruise around on your own underwater scooter (James Bond style). And many more…….

PADI Rescue Course and Emergency First Response:

Course duration: 3 days
Pre-requisite: 12 years old. PADI Advanced Open Water license or equivalent from other diving organization.
Price: Rescue=9000, EFR=3200 Inc. 3 nights budget accom.

The Rescue and EFR are two separate courses that are conducted together. The EFR is a CPR and first aid certification which is recognized all around the world. The Rescue course is a great confidence builder and probably one of the most fun and challenging PADI courses. Looking at theory on how accidents and emergencies happen, problem management and prevention. Learning different rescue techniques, including panic divers, self rescue techniques, searching procedures, unconscious divers and marine injury management. A very rewarding course that gives you dive leadership skills.

The EFR course is a classroom /practical course watching videos and realistic practical session covering CPR, first aid treatment, bandaging, Injury assessments, spinal injury management, marine life injury treatments.

The PADI Rescue course is split into 3 areas:

  1. Classroom theory sessions.
  2. Practical training exercises. This is where you will learn and practice all of the techniques needed to conduct successful and efficient rescues.
  3. Scenarios. Your Instructor will set up realistic rescue scenarios for you to deal with. Including underwater searches and responding to multiple emergencies at the same time.

PADI Divemaster Course:

Course duration 4 weeks- 5 months.
Pre-requisite- PADI Rescue Diver or equivalent from other organization, CPR +First aid training, 40 dives
Price: 25000 Baht. Incl. 3nights + 6000 Baht for materials

This exciting program is the first PADI Professional certification. Spend anywhere from 4 weeks to 5 months living in paradise. Experience and become a part of one of the most vibrant dive industries in the world. This is probably the best value for money course available. Especially at Koh Tao Easy Divers, because along with the required training we allow you to do as many fun dives as you like (many of our DMT’s log over 100 dives on this course all inclusive). Unlike most of the other dive shops on Koh Tao we will also provide you with much more than the minimal requirements for this course. Our experienced team of Divemasters and Instructors will provide extra training to prepare you for working in a busy dive industry anywhere in the world. At the end of the course our resident PADI Course Director can provide a workshop where we can prepare your CV and advise and assist you on employment (if you choose to work).

Knowledge development and Exams.
At professional level it is necessary to have extensive dive knowledge. You will attain this by self study and lectures by our experienced staff, including physics, physiology, equipment , decompression theory, dive skills and environment.

Becoming a PADI Instructor will allow you to start an exciting career as a diving educator, allowing you to work anywhere in the world in this exciting and growing industry. Conducted by PADI Course Director Chris Freestone and experienced IDC Staff Instructors,we focus on creating a relaxed learning environment for our candidates and also preparing you fully for real world teaching. Taking your IDC with Chris means that you will cover way more that is required on the course in order to put you a step ahead of the rest . The IDC also includes EFRI, Enriched Air Instructor Specialty and O2 Provider Instructor Specialty.
