Cafe del Sol was established in 1999 and was the first French restaurant on Koh Tao. With over two decades of experience, the restaurant promises delicious meals at affordable prices. Cafe del Sol also operates its own bakery, so you can expect freshly baked bread and a range of pastries and sweet treats in addition to a full menu of appetizers and main courses. This restaurant is well recognised for its excellent food which has been reviewed in many guide books over the years, including Lonely Planet.
The restaurant is open all day and serves breakfast and lunch as well as evening meals. Recently revamped, Cafe del Sol is spacious, light, airy, and comfortable. Delivery and take away services are also available.
Owner and head chef Roberto uses family recipes from Italy and France that have been passed down through generations. He is passionate about cooking and aims to provide all of his customers with authentic tastes and flavours. The menu comprises starters, salads, pizzas, pasta, steaks, French and Italian specialties, and vegetarian dishes. There’s also a great range of house grill and fresh fish dishes, and some tasty desserts.
Cafe del Sol is one of the few restaurants on the island to have a full children’s menu. So those travelling with families on Koh Tao can be assured of a range of kids’ options and portion sizes.
A standard drinks menu comprising soft drinks, local beers, house wines, and a selection of spirits is available. In addition, Cafe del Sol has a wine list offering a range of red, white, and rose options who would prefer to buy by the bottle.
