Tanote Peak Viewpoint
One of the highest points you can reach on Koh Tao, Tanote Peak Viewpoint offers panoramic vistas of both east and west coast locations. Looking down over Love Koh Tao Viewpoint Bar and past Golden Viewpoint into Tanote Bay, Laem Thien Bay, and across to Shark Island, Tanote peak Viewpoint can only be reached on foot. It is perfect for those who are looking to explore a few different viewpoints in one day, as it is also close to West Coast Viewpoint and Two View Viewpoint Bar.
The rocky outcroppings at Tanote Peak Viewpoint provide amazing photo opportunities, and sometimes you can see some spectacular nature, such as buzzards and sea eagles overhead. There are also some interesting small stone circle monuments just short of the peak.
To access Tanote Peak Viewpoint you can come from either north Sairee, south Sairee, or over from Love Koh Tao Viewpoint Bar. Whichever direction you come from you need to continue up the hill to the peak once you reach West Coast Viewpoint. From there it only takes 5-10 minutes to reach the very top.
There are no fees to access West Coast Viewpoint if you hike from north Sairee, however you may be charged an access fee by the landowners at Two View Viewpoint Bar if you come from either south Sairee or over from Love Koh Tao Viewpoint Bar.

Sunrise or Sunset?
Sunrise. Tanote Peak Viewpoint’s eastern-facing location at the very top of one of Koh Tao’s highest peaks makes it one of the best places to watch the sunrise.
