Accommodation in Chalok

Accommodation in Chalok is perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle and hang out in a quieter environment. Located at the southern end of the island, the village of Chalok Baan Kao oozes the chill factor. It still provides plenty in the way of facilities and amenities to guarantee an enjoyable stay.

Making a base out of your accommodation in Chalok is a great idea if you want to get out and go exploring on Koh Tao, as the village is near many of Koh Tao’s best beaches, and there are also a couple of popular viewpoints and viewpoint bars nearby. Along the long stretch of golden sand that comprises Chalok Bay itself, there are a few dive centres and café’s, while on the main road, you’ll find most of the village’s most popular eateries.

Exploring more of Koh Tao on foot will take some effort from Chalok, so scooter rental is recommended. There’s a beautiful coastline hike that will take you from Chalok to Mae Haad in about an hour. From there you can carry on to Sairee Village in a further half hour or so. However, this is perhaps not a round trip to be made by foot every day, especially in peak heat season.
