Accommodation in Sairee
If you are looking for accommodation in Sairee, you have many different options to choose from as Sairee Village is the largest and most heavily populated of the three main town areas on Koh Tao. Don’t let this put you off, however, as ‘bustling’ and ‘busy’ on Koh Tao terms still means peaceful and idyllic compared to most other places in the world!
Sairee Beach stretches down the west coast of the island for over a kilometre. The central to southern part of the beach is flanked by a small brick road that runs alongside it. Affectionately known as the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ by locals, it is mainly used as a walking street, although it is wide enough for mopeds and bicycles to use too, and driving along it is not prohibited.
Along the Yellow Brick Road, you’ll find a multitude of beach lounges, café’s, dive centres, and accommodation providers. Beachfront accommodation in Sairee tends to be dominated by higher-end and boutique providers, but there are plenty of other options within a few minutes’ walk if you are looking for alternative types of accommodation.
Central Sairee, just a short stroll from the beach, is largely dominated by restaurants. However, if you head either north or inland to the east, you’ll find further accommodation alternatives along with more excellent dining options.
