Summit Viewpoint Bar

Summit Viewpoint Bar prides itself as being the highest viewpoint on Koh Tao, so it is well worth a visit if you’d like to get as high up the mountain as possible to grab yourself some panoramic views of the surrounding scenery and gorgeous blue ocean as far as the eye can see.

Similar in orientation to 180 Viewpoint Bar but with a more elevated stance and a bit more of a view towards the north, you can see for miles over the Gulf of Thailand. On a clear day, you can even make out some of the islands that flank the mainland, as well as looking through the valleys at the south of the island and across to Koh Phangan and Koh Samui.

Access

Summit Viewpoint Bar is relatively easy to access, although do be aware if you are driving that the road is very steep and some of it is not in great condition. So unless you have a reliable Koh Tao rental scooter, it may be difficult to make it up the steepest sections with 2 people.

To reach Summit Viewpoint Bar you’ll need to follow the Hin Wong Bay road out of Sairee and take a left at the very top of the hill, signposted for Mango Bay. At the top of a steep incline you’ll reach Jim’s Bar, next to which is a dirt track turning on the right. Take this track for a couple of hundred metres, following it right to the end, past  180 Viewpoint Bar and where you’d turn off to reach Grape View Viewpoint

Fees

There is a 100THB entrance fee to Summit Viewpoint Bar, which also covers entry to 180 Viewpoint Bar further back down the road.
