Blue Chair is a traditional, family-owned and run Thai food restaurant located in the heart of Sairee. True to its name, it is filled with blue chairs and tables and warm lighting that gives the small space a cosy and welcoming feel. Blue Chair is a popular choice among Koh Tao locals for both lunch and evening meals. The family that runs the café have been on the island and managing the restaurant for as long as anyone can remember, but they have not lost their passion for providing tasty Thai dishes full of flavour. Meals are available for eat-in and take away, but there is no delivery service. In the evenings you will often find the restaurant is very busy, you may have to wait to be seated.

Food

Blue Chair is one of the restaurants on Koh Tao that is famous for a particular dish. In this case specifically, massaman curry. Chicken and vegetable versions are available, and both are slow-cooked all day. This means the chicken is so tender it falls apart at the touch of a fork. The potatoes are cooked to perfection. The best advice is to get in early though, as portions are limited and it is not unusual for them to run out. 

Aside from the iconic massaman curry, the menu comprises a full range of starters and Thai main courses including stir-fries, red and green curry, noodle dishes and fried rice dishes. 

Drinks

Despite being one of the smaller Thai restaurants on the island, a full drinks menu is available, allowing you to choose from fruit shakes, juices, soft drinks, spirits, and a range of local beers.
