At Island Travel Scooters we can accept just your passport copy/photo with a cash deposit of 2000 baht. It’s possible to leave your original passport if you prefer. We store all passports securely in our safe.

You can expect the same level of friendly, efficient, and helpful service with our scooter rentals as you can with any of our other products and services. The office for scooter rental is located on the same premises as our travel agency and is open daily from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Honda Click 125i 2016 Model
1. The 2016 Honda Click 125i daily rental cost starts from 200 baht, including scratch insurance. If you scratch any parts the insurance will cover them. If you break any parts, the insurance does not cover them. The prices are on the back of the contract. If you plan to explore the island’s many viewpoints and beaches please keep in mind this is an older 2016 model, and may struggle a little with two people going up some of the steep Koh Tao hills. If you are two people riding the scooter we recommend you choose a new 2023 model Click 125i.
Honda Click 125i 2023 Model
2. The 2023 Honda Click 125i costs from 250 baht per day, including scratch insurance. The insurance covers scratched parts. Broken parts are not covered by the insurance. The prices are on the back of the contract.
Yamaha NMAX 155 2018-2022 Model
3. The 2018-2020 Yamaha NMAX 155 costs from 350 baht per day, including scratch insurance. If you scratch any parts the insurance will cover them. The insurance does not cover any broken parts. The prices are on the back of the contract. The 155 NMAX has dual ABS and a wider seat than the Click 125i. If you are two adults and a child we would recommend the NMAX 155 over the Honda Click 125i.

The Honda Click 160i 2024 model costs from 350 baht per day, including scratch insurance. The insurance does not cover any broken parts. The prices are on the back of the contract. The Click 160 has dual ABS, a remote access smart key, and a wider seat than the Click 125i. If you are two adults we would recommend the Click 160i over the Click 125i.

Honda ADV 160 2026 Model
The Honda ADV 160 costs from 450baht per day, including scratch insurance. [The insurance does not cover any broken parts / insurance covers scratched parts only]. The prices are on the back of the contract. The ADV 160 is Honda’s adventure-style scooter, built with a taller ride height, long-travel suspension, and rugged styling that sets it apart from the Click and NMAX range. Standard features include dual ABS, a remote access smart key, a USB charging socket, and a spacious seat with 21 litres of underseat storage.. If you want extra ground clearance and a more adventurous ride for exploring Koh Tao’s hillier routes, we’d recommend the ADV 160 over the Click 160i or Click 125i.

Koh Tao Roads
The roads have greatly improved in recent years and most of the main roads are in good condition. This includes the roads that lead over to the east coast of the island to Tanote Bay & Aow Leuk. If you have enough experience and ability and do not stray off the main roads onto gravel or dirt tracks, you can enjoy a safe and fun time exploring Koh Tao on a scooter. We recommend that you explore the island’s many stunning beaches & viewpoints. Access roads to some beaches are poor and are just dirt tracks with many potholes like the tracks to Laem Thien and Mao Bay. If you wish to go to those beaches we recommend that you park near Tarna Align and hike the rest of the way.
Lighthouse Bay is a fun hike that many locals including myself love to do, there is an abandoned lighthouse, which is a great viewpoint. To reach Lighthouse Bay, start by parking at Cicada Cafe. Next, embark on the trail with a companion who is familiar with the route. We see many people asking for hiking buddies in the Facebook group called Hiking on Koh Tao.
The road to Mango Bay is poor. We recommend that you park near Cicada Cafe and hike to Mango Bay from there.
Lang Khai is a small rocky cove and is great for snorkeling. The road leading to Lang Khai is not concrete all the way, but it’s safe to ride.
Reserving A Scooter in Advance
Reserving a scooter in advance is not possible. Customers frequently prolong the rental duration, resulting in uncertainty regarding the scooter’s return date. Please contact us in the morning of the day that you need a scooter, to ask what we have in stock.
You can choose to leave your passport or a copy of your passport and a 2000 baht cash deposit. If you rent a bike for seven days, we give you an extra day free of charge.
We store passports securely in our safe. Rental payment must be paid in advance. If you decide to keep the scooter for longer, no problem. Upon returning the scooter you can pay any outstanding rent.
